Why Read the
Whole Bible?

Most of us have favorite passages — verses we return to, books we know well. But the full picture of who God is and what He has done is only visible when you read the whole story. The Bible is not a collection of inspirational quotes; it is one unified story from Genesis to Revelation.

Reading through the entire Bible in a year changes how you read every passage. You start to see connections you never noticed, understand context you always assumed, and encounter parts of God's character you had only heard about.

Making It Stick

01
Start with Prayer

Before you read, ask God to open your eyes to what He wants to say. Even a single sentence — "God, speak to me today" — postures your heart differently than just checking off a reading.

02
Read, Don't Study

This plan is about breadth, not depth. Read to understand the big picture. Resist the urge to stop and research every question — note the questions and come back. Keep moving through the story.

03
Mark What Stands Out

Underline or note any verse that hits you. You do not need to journal on every chapter — but capture the ones where God seems to be speaking specifically to you. Those are worth coming back to.

04
Close with Response

End each reading with a brief moment of response — even just a silent "thank you" or "help me." The goal is a daily conversation with God, not just an information transfer.
